Gone through all steps for Norton Safe site, not sure why done all the html using all head and body rules, added the file also to the main page with no luck... please help

Hi Nicola,

 

Welcome to the forum. I've looked at your source code and I don't see the safe web string in the <head> section.

 

You should have received a confirmation email which contains:

 

<meta name="norton-safeweb-site-verification"content="(your unique code)" />

 

The "your unique code" should contain a sequence of 128 alpha-numeric characters. Can you check your registration confirmation email you should have received from Safe Web and see if your HTML editor or web building program will allow you to copy/paste this string from your email into your home page?

 

You mentioned you added the file you your main page. This file should begin with nortonsw. What is the remainder of the filename and I can check this to ensure it has the correct content?

 

I have also asked for the moderator to move this thread to the Norton Internet Security forum for better exposure.

Hi Allen thanks for the reply, ive added the 128 code however its made no difference, also the file added to the www. NicolaMichelleAirey.com website home page is this (nortonsw_2c086b10-338d-0).

 

The full pasted html code added looks like this:

Hi Nicola,

 

Thanks for the update. I looked at your source code again and it looks like your web building program is not adding the safeweb string correctly. So we'll try verifying with the separate nortonsw... file you created.

 

Can you confirm that your nortonsw_2c086b10-338d-0 file ends in .html?

 

Please try saving the file with .html appended after nortonsw_2c086b10-338d-0 so that the filename is:

 

nortonsw_2c086b10-338d-0.html

 

Then try to upload to your website again with your web building program.

 

Once you have done this please log into your Safe Web account and click on Site Dispute and try to verify your webiste again.

 

Please let me know how it goes. If you still have trouble verifying I will check to see if there is enough there so that I can have your website verified manually by the Safe Web team.

Thanks for your reply, i added the file again with the .html attached to it but no luck... not sure why its not accepting it but i have added the html codes and the file is all uploaded on the NicolaMichelleAirey.com site.

Hi Nicola,

 

Sorry, I'm still not seeing the html file. When I look at the source code for you home page I see where there appears to be a link to nortonsw_2c086b10-338d-0.html but the file itself does not appear to be there.

 

The nortonsw_2c086b10-338d-0.html file should be a completely separate file from your home page. The content of this file should contain only the 128 alpha-numeric code which was in your email confirmation when you registered the website with Safe Web.

 

It should be placed in the same location as your home page but must be a separate html file.

 

Alternatively you can try adding keywords with your web building program and have just the 128 alpha-numeric code from your email as your keywords. If you want additional keywords, just separate each with a comma.

 

If I can just see the 128 alpha-numeric code anywhere, it will be enough for me to ask Safe Web to manually verify your website.

Thanks very much for the update. I see in your home page a nortonsw string which has a 128 chracter alpha-numeric code after it starting with vzkstw482fazlhxjjj7qrd.

 

I believe this is supposed to be your unique safe web code so I have requested manual review of your website.

 

Please allow 1-2 days for your website to be manually verified. Please keep this code in place until the Safe Web team has responded to  this thread confirming that your website has been verified.

Nicola, congratulations on having your new website ownership verified! :smileyhappy:

 

I have one follow on suggestion now that ownership has been verified. Your web building program has added the norton safe web code in such a way that it is visible to everyone who views your home page. I would suggest going ahead and removing this now that ownership verification has been completed. That way the code will not detract from your visitors experience.
