Re: New computer with Norton Internet security question

Do not see NSW 12-(2009) Standard or premium editions offered yet on upgrade site.

NAV and NIS 2009 are listed.

Re: New computer with Norton Internet security question

Interesting.  That's where I got my upgrade:  upgrade.

Either they have changed the download or they are mislabeling it on the side.  I definitely got version 12.  Version 11 makes no sense, though, because how would version 11 be an upgrade to version 11.  Perhaps it is a new build.  I would say it's worth trying.

Re: New computer with Norton Internet security question

I take your point but on the KISS principle I pass on what I have seen Symantec Staffers say here. I've not actually myself seen a message from them saying that all conflicts with NSW are fixed in NIS2009. Do you have a link?

So far as "only writing to this poster" is concerned I would disagree. Within a thread I am trying to deal with a specific situation -- that is one of the major benefits of these Forums so far as I am concerned. I would try not to mislead but general statements also can be misleading to the specific case being dealt with.

His NIS2009 Trial does not entitle him to do anyting except buy a copy later if he likes it <s> As for a free upgrade for NSW 2006, I'm not certain about that although the link you give says it is fro V11 which is not the current version. I don't know if they have changed the actual file since I did not wait for it to download and it does not show the filename -- I'm fairly sure we have told Norton about this.

Re: New computer with Norton Internet security question

mijcar

I did try a download - It gave me NAV2008 and NSW ver 11 - 2008.

I thought I saw a page after starting the download fash by indicating 2009 - but end result was 2008.

They always show earlier versions on the pull down list -but not showing NSW 2009 yet.

Only trial versions seem available at this time.

Re: New computer with Norton Internet security question

I've asked for this to be checked out but I just got the download from your link to the Update Center and the file that came down is:

"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Symantec Temporary Files\NSWS081100.exe"

but I see it was created on October 15, 2008 so ........

These are the three files that came down:

ADDON_ESD.exe
ADDON_ESD_GE.exe
NSWS081100.exe

I won't try to install it at the moment since I don't want to mess up this system but I may try it on my VISTA Test Bed later on.
