I got a NIS 2010, and the full version has never worked for me. It installs fine, but then nothing happens after "Your norton product will launch in less than 10 seconds". It just closes after a minute, and does nothing. I really love norton, but I can't get this to work!

Do you have the latest setup package (v17.5.0.127, www.norton.com/nis10)?
And what Windows OS and Service Pack (if any)?
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x64 Hungarian, Norton 360 v20.3.1.22, Norton Utilities 16

Yep latest pack. Windows 7 32bit, no SP.
One strange thing though, when i tried to open live update, it gave some error in "/17.1.xx.xx" not the latest version...

Hello Habylab,
How did you uninstall this version?
Did you create a disc image and then revert back to that image?

Norton 360 • Norton Internet Security • Norton Zone | XP SP3 • Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64

No I uninstalled it using Revo uninstaller, so everything gone basically.

Not necessarily.
Have you tried running the Norton Removal Tool a few times and then try to reinstall?

Obviously, yes.

Hello Habylab
Do you have any other real time security programs installed? Is it possible since you don't have a working NIS 2010 that you may have some malware on your computer which is interfering with the installation of NIS 2010?

No I had AVG before. Anyways, I tried to install it when it first came out. So straight from Beta to the final version, with norton removals etc. Thought you may have fixed it by now...
Got new avast now, working fine until this problem is resolved.

Hello Habylab
Did you use the AVG removal tool 2 times with reboots after each run of it? I would suggest a full scan with the free version of malwarebytes to make sure you don't have malware which is interfering with the install. What was the problem before when you couldn't install the program?
Download the free version, install and update then run a FULL scan. After the scan completes you should post the logs back to this thread.
You can find Malwarebytes here
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_ant
It is a safer location to get the program from than malwarebytes themselves because some malware creators have large lists of sites that they block. Please be careful to down load the correct program ----the FREE version of MALWAREBYTES
(Thanks to Delph for providing the alternative site)
Please come back and let us know how you made out.
