I'm not finding much information here at Symantec about this new malware that Kaspersky sent an email out about yesterday and that it's a spinoff of the Flame malware discovered in May. I have a dual boot machine that I use NIS 2012 and Kaspersky on and I'm just checking to see that Symantec has updated our virus definitions and that we're protected. I'm not implying we aren't protected, I'm just not seeing much here saying we are. Thanks in advance and I'm hoping for good news!

From what I've read about it it''s more likely to be targeting credit card companies and banks than you or me ..... I hope!

I agree, common sense is a good policy in the vast world of the internet. It appears to be mostly in Lebannon according to news reports, but I did read 56 computers have been infected in the US. I use online banking a few times a week, so it makes me nervous when we don't have an official response yet from the folks at Symantec. In the meantime I'll hope for the best until we know for certain that we're protected. ![]()
I posted at the same time as you yank, so thanks for the headsup. I couldn't find it using several searches, but you appear to know better than I how to find information here on the Symantec website!!

Hi EarlScheib,
This is meant as a joke and I hope you take it that way - it's all in what you enter in Google sometimes: ![]()

I have a sense of humor and you're right, it's all in the way you search these days. ![]()

I have Gauss files, and like Flame before appears to target systems in the Middle East, most look like Lebanon, Israel and Palestine.
Even with similar C&C I.P. addressing.
