Norton 2010 antivirus.

Hi guys,

Im a recent user of Norton, and ive been getting the security i need with this product.

Only thing i got a problem with is, that i got a free trial for a couple of days, bought a key and just installed it.

I never had a installer for this AV, but now i want to reformat my laptop with my subscription still at 357 days to go.

Is there any possible way anyone can provide me a installer for a Norton AntiVirus Version 17.8.05?

And if there can be any assuarance that i can still continue this 357 days remaining on my subscription.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: Norton 2010 antivirus.

Hello Shinra,

Please see this document which should help you download the latest version: http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&ssfromlink=true&docurl=2008051416231...

Also, since you have an active subscription, you can update to the 2011 product for free. :smileyhappy:

Hi Shinra,

You do have Norton Antivirus and not Norton Internet Security, correct?

Just to clarify, you will not have any problem getting your subscription days back when you reinstall NAV. As the document that Tim gave you indicates, please make sure and make note of your product key as you will need it to reinstall and activate NAV with your current subscription.

In the unlikely event there were to be problems with this, you can visist Customer Service and they will straighten it out for you.

I would highly recommend that you download NAV 2011 and install that instead of NAV 2010.

http://www.symantec.com/redirects/norton/norton_com/nav11/

Note that this is for the English version so please let us know if you need a different language and we can provide an alternate link.

After you install NAV please be sure to run live update repeatedly (rebooting as requested) until it reports that there are no more updates.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.

Allen

Hi Shinra,

If you have Norton Internet Security, then this is the one you need to install as the product keys are not interchangeable. NIS has far more than NAV.

The direct download link for NIS 2011 is as follows:

http://www.symantec.com/redirects/norton/norton_com/nis11/

Again, please let me know if you need a language other than English. Other than this the rest of what you were advised is the same.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.

Re: Norton 2010 antivirus.

Hello Shinra

If you have NIS, then it would have a smart firewall in the program also in addition to other features. NAV has no firewall in it.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

Re: Norton 2010 antivirus.

Hi Shinra,

I'm sure it will work fine. The product key is not tied to any particular version of NIS such as 2010 or 2011. As long as you currently have NIS and not NAV, then the product key will work for you.

Please let us know how it goes.

Best wishes.
