Had the same problem with Windows XP Pro, Outlook Express and NIS2012. After second attempt with live chat support I was upgraded to supervisor level. He diagnosed it as a problem with a .DLL file. Solution was to re-register that file (I believe the file was "msouplug.dll" but not 100% certain. Problem appears to be solved.

Well I must say that's some positive news in the right direction! I've just checked the properties for the 'msouplug.dll' file you mention and I can see that this 'dll' is in fact the 'AntiSpam MS Outlook Plugin'. Interesting indeed..!!!!
I wonder why your tech guy hasn't shared this information with the rest of them at Norton? Perhaps this is something new and you were the first to get the fix?!
I will pass on your info to Tony_Weiss for further advice, thanks again for this update! ![]()
Could you please keep an eye on your spam button and report back should anything change?
Thanks again!

Hi; I found this file but don't really know how to "re-register" a file but don't really know how to "re-register" a file. I still have the anti-spam icon there, but haven't turned off my computer in a couple of days. So, we'll see what happens when I do.
I'll keep you posted! peggy

Quick update -- I had to restart my computer and, hooray, the icon is still there. Don't know why, but I'm happy.

I have been reliably informed by Tim_Weiss (Forum Administrator) that the 'msouplug.dll' fix mentioned above has nothing to do with the Anti-Spam button issue! Tim feels that the problem may have appeared to have been fixed purely because a system restart was initiated during the tech support session.
You may notice yourself that if the spam button is missing, it will usually reappear if you restart your computer. I find this is normally the case for me at least although I have to say that the spam button was missing entirely when I booted my PC today.
Stay tuned...

It's been over 24 hrs and the button is still there - that's by far the longest since the problem arose - still hoping it's a permanent fix.

Well, this morning, not only was the icon gone, but all the many emails in my in-box were also gone. All the other boxes were intact. I had been intending to empty some of the more than 1,000 messages in my inbox. Now, I don't have to! But of course, I've spent alot to time on the Verizon server checking some of the recent ones that needed action. Grrr!
Do you think there is a connection between the missing icon and the missing e-mail? Verizon didn't have a clue! best, peggy

Hi Peggy,
Oddly enough I had the same thing happen last week although I hadn't made any connection between that and the anti-spam button. I lost six very important emails which were evidence in a legal issue!! I still have no idea what happened to them, like you all of my other folders remained unaffected, it was just the 'inbox'.
I wonder if perhaps there is a limit on how many emails you can have in your inbox, 1000 does sound a little excessive! I usually keep my own to around 10 max and save the important ones, if only I'd had a chance in this instance.
I'm sorry I don't have any knowledge of 'Verizon', what is it exactly?
Regards

Hi: I don't think that there is a limit, especially not at 1,000. I've had more than that with no trouble. This was the weirdest thing to have them just disappear, along withthe anti-spam icon. I was able to recover them from the Verizon. site -- did you try that? I transfered any important mail today to another file in case it happens again. What a bother!!!

Verizon is our internet provider.
