Re: Norton ANTI-SPAM button - READER INPUT REQUIRED PLEASE!!!

[ Edited ]

Norton doesn't know how to fix their own product.  That surprises me.   not.  When this subscription is done, so will I be.  Will never go back to norton because they can't or won't fix the problems incurred.  I just may try that Kaspersky.  I have used AVG in the past and that worked very well, and it isn't a memory pig.  Why did I go back to norton?  Gawd I don't know but when I leave this time I will never go back and if any one asks, I will inform them that with norton you get no support.  None, nada.  I have asked for a refund back and they keep refusing.  Might just have to go to court and try that way.  I have nothing to lose.  Already have a program that doesn't work, what will they do?  Fix it?  I doubt it.[Removed]

Re: Norton ANTI-SPAM button - READER INPUT REQUIRED PLEASE!!!

I had about given up and didn't think much about anti-spam.  Then a couple of days ago, Norton suddenly "upgraded" and I had the anti-spam button again.  Hooray! Not hooray!!  This morning whenever I click "this is spam", it doesn't automatically send it there.  I get a box describing the email and when I kick "okay" I get another choice in what file I want it to go.  Dumb!  Far too many steps.  I hope someone from Norton is actually reading this.

We've been working on the AntiSpam toolbar issue, we've come up with a temporary workaround. Please try enabling Boot Time Protection (Settings > Computer > Real-Time Protection). If BTP is set to OFF, please change it to Normal. You will also need to restart Outlook Express to see the change, and possibly restart your system. We've been testing this workaround, and it seems to work very well. Please note, this will likely have a slight impact on your boot time, slowing it down a bit. It shouldn't be too noticible, but you may see a small bit of extra time added to your boot. We're still working on a permanent fix, but this seems to work well in our labs. Let me know if this helps you or not, or if you have any other questions.

Well, I just did what you suggested and when I restarted OE, the anti spam icon is gone.  Now what?

I hate to sound like the "company IT guy", and for that I'm sorry. Have you tried rebooting your system?
