Re: Norton ANTI-SPAM button - READER INPUT REQUIRED PLEASE!!!

This is really stupid!! I've been having these problems ever since I installed NIS.  I've tried all the suggested solutions and some work for a few days.  Now, I'm back to having the anti-spam logo up, but the "this is spam" and "this is not spam" are greyed out so cannot be used. I really don't want to take the time to try again if it only works for a few days.  So, come on Norton. DO SOMETHING!   If not, I think I will ask for my money back or be "demoted" to a previous version that works.  I've written several post about this thing and I'm tired of it.

Hopefully Norton is watching.  Are you?  With the current situation, I would never recommend this program to anyone.

Re: Norton ANTI-SPAM button - READER INPUT REQUIRED PLEASE!!!

Like Peggy I have tried all 'fixes' and nothing seems to be a permanent  solution. 'Norton Anti Virus Icon in Tool bar' sometimes there sometimes not.Right click 'This is Spam', 'This is not Spam' sometimes works sometimes not! No reason why it works some days and not others, I have changed nothing in the mean time. I have sent log files to administrator and heard nothing.

Come on Norton this has been an ongoing problem for a least 6 MONTHS and nothing seems to have been done, Please don't blame Microsoft for the problem, surely you must have tested the product before it was released?????

Unfortunately I have 10 months subscription left but will NOT be renewing or recommending this product to anyone....

I have the same problem with XP and OutLook Express.  All they ever say is to uninstall and reinstall.  That does not work.  I want my money back if they can't fix this.

While I'm glad you understand Tony, your sympathy is not solving the problem. Come on...lots of people are waiting for a solution. I'm sure if you come up with one people will stop talking about other products on this forum!

[ Edited ]

Been having the disappearing "This is Spam" button, etc since upgrading to NIS 2012. I'm using the following elements on this computer:

1) Outlook Express 6.00 2900.5512  (xpsp.080413-2105)

2) Win XP Media Center Edition ver 2002  SP-3

3) The problem happens at least once or twice a day. (this computer is on 9AM-6PM mail checked ~10-12 times/day)

4) I have to reboot the computer to correct.

I've used Norton antivirus products for over a decade with practically no problems. Generally speaking, it's a great product. I guess that's why it can be so annoying when this situation seems to be taking such a long time to resolve.

ANTI-SPAM WORKING WITH OUTLOOK 2010

I understand that Norton says that when something is marked as Spam, the address is sent to the blocked list and when it is marked as not spam, it is moved to approved list.  But how does this interact with Outlook which has its own Junk-spam filter that has low to high settings and its own "Block Sender" and "Never Block Sender" options.  My question is whether these two systems work together perfectly or whether there are some unintended consequences.  Thanks.

Re: Norton ANTI-SPAM button - READER INPUT REQUIRED PLEASE!!!

I am not sure in what you are referring to here when you say " Norton ANTI-SPAM button". Are you speaking MS Office, Outlook 2010, and the Norton Tab tat you open to  slect if it is spam, or it is not spam? Yesterday MS set out 11 dates (58mb) in which it touch just about everything in Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit.

I have had that Tab in Outlook 2010 for sometime now and I have chased in the begining conerning errors concerning ANTI-Virus, and since I have used NIS for what seems forever, MS would never come right out and point fingers since they were trying to sell an A/V of their own. In saying that I have to say for a few months I was working with some who had a problem understanding American English, since I'm from Texas I can imagine how hard it was for those persons I was talking with, after a while I was transfered to Canda, than Newfoundland.

A little over three weeks working along side with Canda, and Newfoundland we came to the idea that Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit were the same problems. We narrowed using MSN, Hotmail, Yahoo we could not see that MSN, Yahoo were less a problem, than Hotmail. Canda, and Newfoundland came up with information that "Windows Live" were interface with Hotmail to do there testing in using e-mail.

I took off the Hotmail accounts from MS Office, Outlook 2010 there were very few error messages. Canda, and Newfoundland  used other e-mail accounts and found what I had said after removing Hotmail. Canda, and Newfoundland are contracted to MS, plus have a lot more restores than I have, so they did send information to MS. MS did send out some updates which had an affect to even reduced MS Office, Outlook 2010. Most of the error messages concerning synchronization, that would be with "Windows Live".

Now all these finding were found last year, since "Windows Live" has clear a lot of problems, along with Internet Exploer 9 as well.

Finding:

A world that becoming more and more everyday a world of Science and Technology with that said, life as we know it changes every second which creates change. So if we are going to work the Internet, than deal with programs that use the Internet that are changing we have to come to working along side those companies. We have to come to the understanding in our mind that something really doesn't work as planned the first time.

In 68 years I have seen that given time things do get better in the long run. We have to see that when the problems are solved and it begins to work as we think we want, some new Technology comes forth, we have to lean to work with it. If not the World stands still. It depends on the person what they want to do, deal with it, or work together to fix what needs to be smoothed out so it works for the common good.

My way is not always the right way, but it's better than grapping, and standing still.
