Re: Norton ANTI-SPAM button - READER INPUT REQUIRED PLEASE!!!

I have gotten in the habit of turning offf the Anti Spam function and then selecting "Until system Restart" as I exit. This has worked pretty well as long as I leave OE open all day. But yesterday, I had to do this reboot procedure FIVE TIMES before the anti spam functionality returned...... SYMANTEC !!!! ARE YOU LISTENING ???? DO YOU EVEN CARE ????

Re: Norton ANTI-SPAM button - READER INPUT REQUIRED PLEASE!!!

And yet another update!   A couple of days ago, I decided to delete the anti-spam feature and then reinstall.  I couldn't for the life of me find where to do that, so I called Norton and finally got a techie to take control and put it back.  He wasn't too pleasant, but so far, it seems to work.  Hasn't gone away in two days!  One thing I wondered:  I thought that once you told it that something was spam, whenever it turned up, it would automatically be sent to the spam folder.  I don't think it's doing that.  But, at least at  present it's working.  Hooray!!!  peggy

Re: Norton ANTI-SPAM button - READER INPUT REQUIRED PLEASE!!!

Peggy, since I went back to 2011 no problems but my backup computer still has 2012. Every few days I start it up to keep it updated. Tonight I did this and checked my email on it and the same as you. What was on the blocked list was not  and had the missing icon also.

I'd be happy as I have read that the tool bar is doing the same. I waited until the bugs were out of 2012 before updateing but it seems like I did it tooooo sooooooonn.

PS. 2011 is a godsend.

Re: Norton ANTI-SPAM button - READER INPUT REQUIRED PLEASE!!!

Hi All,

Well it seems that Norton are ignoring this issue all together now and so it seems unlikely that we will ever get 'full' use of this product. Worse still the powers to be at Norton are also now ignoring my emails requesting an extension of our subscriptions!

SHAME ON YOU NORTON, How foolish of me to think that you actually cared about your customers.

Oh well, anyone wishing to free themselves from this BS you might like to try this link: http://www.kaspersky.co.uk/trials

I hear really good reviews of these products, I can't wait to try something new. NIS was becoming a little boring and out-dated.

THANK GOD I ONLY HAVE 31 DAYS LEFT

I certainly will.., If I like it I'll be singing about it from the roof tops! Something I used to do about NIS but no longer, they've cooked their bacon as far as I'm concerned!

I don't know if you've looked at the features of Kaspersky yet? The new product they call 'Kaspersky Pure' seems to pack a wealth of innovative new feature which makes NIS look more like a give-a-way. It boasts new cloud based technologies together with an intelligent password manager which actually creates the passwords for you. No more running out of birth dates or pet names the software does it all for you. The thing I really like is that your password vault is portable too!

I downloaded the 30 day trial version of Kaspersky Pure V.2.0 last night, it's 179 MB in total so not too big. It's very tempting to uninstall the current rubbish security program from my system and install it early, it's not like I'll be loosing anything as I'm sure you will agree?!

Perhaps I'll wait until the weekend and let you know more then.

All the best

Re: Norton ANTI-SPAM button - READER INPUT REQUIRED PLEASE!!!

The clock is ticking Norton!

32 days until I leave your sorry excuse for a security program for good! No more money down the drain, No more threats to my security, No more Spam, No more being ignored on the forums, No more time wasted talking to technicians in Delhi...., (what a joke)!!

What a relief to finally break this cycle of disappointment,

Kaspersky here I come!

Choose Life..

Choose anything other than this s**#t.

Re: Norton ANTI-SPAM button - READER INPUT REQUIRED PLEASE!!!

Hi Tube-Rider-Dude,

I apologize for not replying sooner. Our team is still researching the issue, digging through logs finding the cause of this issue. I know you want to hear much better news, but this is the truth. We're working hard on this issue.

While I understand the frustration, I also see the huge benefit of a Norton product aside from AntiSpam. I hope you will reconsider switching security products. Thanks.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your feedback.., sadly though it has all come a little too late for my liking. I've waited patiently since the release of NIS 2012 last Aug/Sep (2011) and during that time Norton have made no visible efforts to apologies for this awful service!

I'm currently preparing my system to remove your product as we speak, yes I know I have 32 days left but I'd rather loose them altogether than suffer these problems any further.

I've asked both yourself and Dave_Coleman if those affected by this issue can have an extension of their subscriptions and so far Dave is the only one to provide me with an answer which was definite..., NO!

If Norton really valued our custom they could have used this opportunity as a PR exercise and agreed to my request as a gesture of good will. It seems painfully obvious Norton have no good will left to give.

Perhaps as a parting gift you can give me the link for the latest Norton Remove Tool? Also, will this uninstall Ghost 15.0? I would like to keep using that.
