I am trying to install Norton Internet Security 2009 Add-on Pack, however, when I run the installation file I get the following message "A problem has occurred that needs your attention: The install file cannot be properly validated. Please try again. If you continue to receive this error message, you should run a Windows Update and then try again."
I am running Vista Premium. I have updated all there is to update with Windows Update, and I have tried this installation too many times to count and still get this error message. Help!

Hi errobat,
I think, the problem is with the Norton Add-on Pack installation package. Redownload the Add-on Pack setup file and install it. You can use this LINK.

Hi eerobat,
You didn't specify how you are trying to install the Add-On Pack.
Perhaps you could try installing the Add-On Pack from within the Main Norton Interface, but first you should clean out the temp files of the failed installation attempts.
For Vista, navigate to: C:\Program Data\ Symantec\Symantec Temporary Files.
Delete any AOP downloads located there.
*** Do Not download the Add-On Pack Installer ***
Once the files are deleted, open the main Norton interface.
Go to Settings > Parental and Privacy Controls then "Click here to install".
Let us know how you do.
