Hi,
I have just upgraded Norton Internet Security to the 2011 version, which i believe is supposed to be compatible with Outlook 2010. However, All the options under the "Norton" tab in Outlook 2010 except for "Open Norton AntiSpam" are grayed out no matter which folder i go to in Outlook. I am not very sure how Norton AntiSpam works but I don't think that those options are supposed to always be grayed out. I am running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit with Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 32-bit version 14.0.4760.1000 and Norton Internet Security 2011. Is something wrong with my Norton AntiSpam?

Hi austinkot
Welcome to the Norton Community Forums
Do you still get this if you have an email message selected? Some buttons will be grayed out depending on what you have selected, what folder you are currently in and whether there are any emails in that folder.

I have tried going to different folders and selecting different emails but those options remain grayed out.

I have the exact same problem. I'm running Windows 7 x64 and Office 2010 32 bit. I have the Norton tab in Outlook but all of the options except "Open Norton Antispam" are grayed out. I had been told that when NIS 2011 was released it would work with the 32 bit version of Office 2010, obviously I was told incorrectly. Does anyone have a solution for this problem or is it time to start looking for a different security program?

Hi,
Could you please provide more information about your Outlook 2010 setup. Here is what I would be interested to know to understand the problem:
1) Was a full version or a trial version of Outlook 2010 installed on your computer?
2) If the trial version had been installed, was it upgraded to the full version?
3) How many Outlook data files (pst files) are opened in your Outlook?
4) Are your Outlook data files password protected?
5) Have you ever changed default permissions on your mail folders?
6) Have you ever renamed any of your built-in folders (Inbox, Junk, etc.)?
Thank you very much for your help,
Victor

Hi
I too have the same proplem. I have MS Office Pro 2010 (32-bit), Win 7 HP 64-bit and NIS 2011 installed.
All my NISpam buttons, other than Open Norton Spam) are, and remain, grayed out. :-(
Sorry. Ignore my last. It does work. It works if I receive mail through the default folders in MS2010 but if I recieve an email through my Hotmail account (via outlook connector) in Outlook then the SPAM options do not work. I guess it has somethign to do with the ports used in receiving the mail?
