Hi,
I have been using NAV 2008 and my subscription is about to expire.
I purchased a new version ov NAV 2008 at Staples for free after rebates.
I try to install it onto my machine and it says I still have 2 days left on the subscription.
How do I use the new product key and get the new copy to work?
Thanks,
Tj

Hi,
I unfortunately do not have a copy of NAV 2009. The version I have is NAV 2008 with the 3 Pc option.
Whereas I have 3 Pc's in the house.
When installing I do not like to register because I try to not put to much information about myself on the web.
Plus I get plenty of junkmail already.
Is there a download available to use the 2008 key on?
Thanks,
Tj

Hi Tjboatboy,
Installing a new copy of NAV 2008 will not make a difference in being able to use the new key as you are purchasing a subscription, not the product. Your old key will remain on your computer until it expires or until you renew or enter a new key
In your NAV 2008 program you should see an option to Renew or Subscribe. Click on that option and then choose "new activation key" and enter it. When you enter the new key, you will of course loose any days left on your current subscription.
As Stu mentioned, you do have the opportunity to update to NAV 2009, however I should point out that it does not have an inbound Firewall as NAV 2008 does. You can consider that option and get back to us with any questions.

Hi,
I downloaded the 2009 NAV and it did allow me to use the 2008 product key.
I was unaware of the firewall issue.
"BUT" I had installed the software a while ago on my main PC. Now when I activated the NAV 2009
using the 2008 3 Pc key on my laptop it only shows 252 days left.
I have my main computer my wifes and this laptop that I use.
When renewing the laptop and my wifes computer which had NAV 2008 installed on different dates It seems that installing now I will sacrifice at least 100 days. Why is that??
Thanks,
Tj

The activation key starts the countdown from the first day it was entered regardless of which computer; it does not reset to 365 days when you install it on another computer.
If this coincides with the time you first installed the "Staples" CD key, then it is correct.
