I purchased Norton 2011 with a new computer. When I try to install it, I get to the window where i enter the Product Key Code. After entering the code, I try to click on agree & install, but it is as if there is nothing there (the little hand doesn't appear). What's up with this?

There is a specific Forum for Norton Internet Security and Norton Antivirus, so I'll ask for your message to be moved over there or better exposure. You won't lose sight of it because a link will be left here.

Hello Catfish
Welcome to the Norton Community Forum
Did your new computer come with a security program already installed? If it did, then you have to remove that program using the control panel and then rebooting your computer. Do you have any Roxio installed with the computer? The answer about the Roxio will determine the next step. Thanks.
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

The new new computer came with Norton Internet Security installed and still has 46 days remaining. I can wait another month, uninstall it, then try again, but the same thing happened when I tried to install it on the my old computer. However, there were some remnants of an older antivirus program on that computer. They didn't uninstall, so I will have to do a clean-up before I try again.

Hi Catfish,
Unless I am mistaken the "Agree and Install" screen appears long before you are asked to enter the product key. In fact, you do not actually activate the product until it has successfully already installed. So I am a little puzzled as to what you may be seeing. Could you clarify the steps you are taking?

Hi Catfish,
Can you confirm that you are wanting to install Norton Antivirus (NAV) to replace Norton Internet Security (NIS)? Also what version of Windows do you have and is it 32 or 64 bit?
As Tywin7 said NIS does offer more complete all around protection but if you do want to replace this with NAV, you will need to uninstall NIS first and then run the Norton removal tool per the procedure below.
Please be aware that if you are using NIS Identity Safe to remember website username and passwords that NAV does NOT have this feature. So if you are using this and you do want to replace it with NAV I would suggest exporting your Identity Safe information as per the procedure below.
Please NOTE that if you have NIS 2011 currently installed you can do this export while NIS is still installed but if you have NIS 2010 or older you cannot do the export until after NIS is uninstalled.
To clean your computer of NIS in order to replace it with NAV, please proceed as follows:
Before you use the removal tool, please download the full version of NAV 2011 from here. Please note that this is the English version so please let me know if you need a different language and I will provide the appropriate link.
Once you have downloaded NAV, you can proceed with use of the removal tool as indicated below.
Please NOTE that this removes ALL Symantec products so be sure to have your license keys ready as you will need to reinstall all your Symantec software products. You can get your Norton product key from your Norton Account.
Once done please download the Norton Removal Tool from Symantec from this link.
For your protection, disconnect from the Internet before continuing.
Do a conventional uninstall of NIS via the Control Panel and then restart your computer.
Run the Norton Removal Tool and once it is completed, please reboot your computer. Once up please run the Removal Tool one more time and once again reboot.
Then please install NAV 2011 from the full version downloaded earlier. Once installed please reconnect back to the Internet and run Live Update repeatedly (rebooting as requested) until it reports there are no more updates.
For the other computer in which you indicate having remnants of a different security program, please let us know what you have installed on that computer and we can offer further guidance on how to clean this up in order to get a clean install of NAV on that computer also.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.

Good point.
Hi Catfish,
You can attach a screen shot of what you are seeing by clicking Alt + Print Screen on your keyboard. Then bring up Microsoft Paint and do a Ctrl + V to paste the image and save to your desktop as a JPG image.
You can attach to your reply by clicking the
symbol at the top of your reply editor, browse to your save image and click Insert.
Best wishes.
