Seems to be working for me now. Finally.
Now, Norton, please give me an email address to someone I can write to about this before I renew in 39 days. I want some sort of compensation for this because it cost me a lot of money tonight.

For Norton 360 v.5...
From the main Norton window, click on the the Tasks link, and then click on the Check Norton Tasks link.
That should get you to the below page. Change the setting to "1 Minute". Then leave your computer unattended for that length of time so it can go into the idle state and apply the new definition.
And this is how it looks in Norton Internet Security 2011.
FYI - The settings for NIS 2010 is basically in the same location:
From the main Norton window, click on Settings, then Miscellaneous Settings, and down at the bottom is the Idle Time Out
A second location is from the main Norton window, Norton Tasks, then the pull-down for Idle Time Out like above for N360v5.

You have obviously seen the other thread. There is a fix on LiveUpdate.Run it manually.
Keep trying as it may take a little time to get to all the servers in the world.

Dave .... I appreciate your hard work on this and I do now have the update working. My remaining concern is that as an eBay seller I do not want my customers to have all these hoops thru which to jump in order to buy my inventory. Are you able to confirm that these updates will take place automatically for ALL Norton users at some point, and how soon those automatic updates will take place. I know there are many people who absolutely will not go through the manual updates and I do not want to lose them as potential eBay customers. If these updates will not happen automatically then Norton is essentially blocking customers from me and that would seem to be an illegal and unwarranted restraint of trade.
Please advise ASAP. Thanks!

Please help.
Hi guyw,
You are 2 upgrades behind, you need to upgrade to the latest NSS version 6.2.1.5 prior to even thinking about anything working correctly.
Please follow these instructions from the FAQ's on the Comcast Forum:
When you go to download the new NSS, please click on the No Thanks Button on the popup for Constant Guard Protection Suite. This will reveal the Get it Now Button to start the download of version 6 NSS.
Any questions/problems post back.

Just as this faulty definition snuck onto your system without your knowledge, the fix will do the same to others. Norton users who never went to eBay today will never know this hiccup happened. ![]()

Dave, is there an email address for support/customer service? I believe some sort of compensation is in order for us ebay sellers who were so greatly affected financially by this...subscription extension, renewal discount, etc. Thanks.
