Hi SGFC
FF 3.6.3 and IPS 2.0 appear OK on my Vista box
What are you seeing?
What does FF Help > Troubleshooting Information render?
Norton IPS 2.0 true

Hi SGFC,
A few of us have had that problem. Page 2 on the thread/link below has a work-around-fix explained by dbrisendine. Uninstalling 17.6, installing 17.5 via the link in dbrisendine's posting, then re-updating to 17.6 has resolved the issue for some of us.

If I go to Tools>Add Ons>It says "Not compatible with Firefox 3.6.3"
I'm not prepared to uninstall and re-install at this point. I just finished reformating =\

Just installed a trial of Norton and had these problems. Following another post, repeated LiveUpdates sorted out the toolbar (installed without asking by Norton - BAD) but IPS 2.0 remains disabled as being incompatible.
Contacted Norton support via chat and was told that NIS 2010 is not compatible with Firefox 3.6.3. Asked when it would be and was simply told "It's not compatible" - end of conversation!
Also had a very weird glitch when I first installed NIS 2010 - when I restarted Firefox it suddenly announced I had just successfully updated to version 3.6.2
Will try the fix given above, but am very inclined to go back to Zone Alarm.

I tried the mrtech fix and it worked for me too...At least it appears to work...
Maybe i'm an oversensitive Firefox user...But many...if not most people who use Firefox do so because they believe it is a more secure browser...Likewise that is why i chose Norton for Internet security...But i admit ot being a bit disappointed to not see any reassuring comments from Norton staff on this subject...I hope this does not mean that Norton is no longer planning to support all of it's security features for Firefox...As i Firefox user i want the best security i can get from Norton...And that means getting all the features like IPS working reliably for Firefox without having to jump through hoops and attempt a variety of workarounds.

Couldn't agree more - the stonewalling from chat support was a real shock.
Just to confuse matters even more, I had also emailed european support beforehand and after my run-in with chat support I then got an email from european support saying that, as of v17.6, NIS 2010 WAS compatible with Firefox 3.6.
About time Norton sorted themselves out if they're not even singing from the same hymn-sheet as it were. After nightmares with Norton some years ago, the word was that the old problems (system slowdown, nightmare to uninstall) had been resolved, so I decided to try the 180 day trial on a magazine DVD.
All I can say is that I'm glad I didn't actually pay for this shambles!
BTW I have installed the MR Tech toolkit and IPS is now reported as working, but how do I tell if it really is?
