To verify what you see is also what Firefox reports.
1) Open FF Help > Troubleshooting Information > Extenstions
Norton IPS 2.0 true
Norton Toolbar 4.6 true
2) type about:plugins in address/locator bar
see Enabled Status

I should have explained'
I wanted you to satisfy yourself that MRFixit or Enabling IPS did not change the status of your other Add-ons.
I should have explained why I offered about:plugins

Aha - I see.
All seems well, many thanks for the input.
European support are meant to be phoning me next week, I will report on what they say about IPS and Firefox 3.6.3

I am a user of firefox & NIS´10 and the IPS 2.0 shows that is not compatible with firefox 3.6.3 again. I hope that Symantec release a pacth for this bug. I am make a "downgrade" to firefox 3.5.9 and with this version no problem, but Symantec has to fix this incompatibility. It is incomprehensible that each new version of firefox has a new incompatibility with NIS2010.

European tech support phoned me yesterday - on the phone for half an hour and let them do a remote login to my machine.
The official line is that the compatibility issues have been fixed and there will be a slapped wrist for the other tech support who told me that NIS 2010 and Firefox 3.6 are not compatible.
The only oddity we could find is that I have two entries for Firefox 3.6.3 in the Remove Programs list in the Vista Control Panel - I assume that this was caused by the unexplained reversion to v3.6.2 that happened to me.
I was told that IPS is part of Norton's anti-phishing system and that the only way to test it would be to visit a dodgy site - we both agreed that this was not a good idea! All my Google results are tagged with Norton's site rating, so I'm hoping that everything is working as it should.
At some point I may do a complete uninstall/reinstall of Firefox to get rid of the duplicate remove program entry, but I'm not in any hurry to go down that route. Apparently there is a tool from Microsoft that will let you remove such duplicates, so I may Google that when I have time.
I can only suggest that anyone who still has problems with IPS and FF3.6 contacts Norton tech support to keep this flagged up as a problem for some users.

I remove NIS 17.6 and re-installed it twice with no success getting a toolbar so I contacted Norton support. Norton support remotely took over my machine and again re-install NIS 17.6 but that did not work so they next clear all Symantec products, registry, folders, etc. from the machine and re-installed it. Again that did not work. After two hours of support and two more re-installs the support person gave up and sent me to a supervisor. By this time I wasted most of the day and had NIS 17.6 installed 4 times on the machine. I told the supervisor maybe another day since all he wanted to do was re-install the software for the fifth time. They have a BIG problem and like Toyota do not want to fix it. Even their own support and can get it to work with firefox 3.63 on a cleaned machine. BTW I tried Mrtool with no luck (so did the support person). I am used XP SP3.
