I have a valid subscription to NIS 2011 and would like to disable the firewall and use my own third party firewall. I know you may think this is silly but I would like to know how to IGNORE the warnings from Norton that I have turned off the firewall.
I could easily do this in other versions.
Thank You!

Hi EricHilton1987,
Yes you can do this. From the main NIS window click on the button to the right of Smart Firewall. This will bring up a diaglog asking how long you wish this to be in effect. Select permanently from the drop down list, then OK your way out.
Then hover your mouse over the words "Smart Firewall". You will see an option to Ignore. Click on this and you won't be warned by NIS about having a disabled firewall any more.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.

Hi EricHilton1987
Open NIS, turn off the Firewall, choose the "Permanent" option then hover your mouse over the words Smart Firewall and a box will pop up with an "ignore" option for you to ignore warning messages.

Hi EricHilton1987,
You are most welcome.
And please don't feel silly. There are truly a lot of options with NIS.
The only important thing is in having the problem solved. ![]()
