Norton Internet Security 2010

Hi there,

I have the latest patch fitted.

I have run Full Scan and Quick Scan.

On the Scans tab, I have Run Quick Scan and Run Full System Scan all saying "Not Completed" and yet they have.

Therefore I have At Risk showing.

Any ideas how to clear this?

Re: Norton Internet Security 2010

Hi clive23,

Welcome to the Norton Community. What is your exact version of NIS from Help & Support > About? What OS and SP do you have and is it 32 or 64 bit?

Did you just recently install NIS 2010? Do you have any other security (anti-virus, etc) software installed besides NIS? Did you previously have any other security software installed and it so how did you remove it? Security software requires the use of a removal tool instead of just removing conventionally through Control Panel, this is because this type of sofware must embed very deeply into the OS in order to provide full protection for your computer.

Did you click the Fix Now button from the main NIS window? You can also try clicking on Help & Support > Get Support and walking through that process and see if the problem is able to be protected.

Also, click on History from the main NIS window. When the history window comes up, type in "scan" in the quick search window on the upper right and hit Return. Look through the list and see if any scans have been completed and let us know the results.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.

Allen

Re: Norton Internet Security 2010

In the end it was easier to get the Norton Removal Tool.

Remove Norton and reinstall works fine now.

Thank you for your trouble.

Hi clive23,

Thank you for the update and I'm happy that things are working for you now.:smileyhappy:

I do want to make sure about whether you have or did have any other security software and if so how you removed it and was it done prior to installing (or reinstalling) NIS?

I'd hate to see you have problems later caused by having more than one security product or improper removal of the former one.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
