Re: Norton Internet Security 2011 Security History - Severity: Medium

There is some information here on the first one:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836982

The second one may take some investigation on your part, as there are several causes.

Re: Norton Internet Security 2011 Security History - Severity: Medium

We do have a few errors in Norton products which starts with the modules 3047 and 3038. As long as your Norton product shows Secure with a green check mark, you do not have to worry about these error  messages. If you still receive these error messages in future, please let us know. We will help you in resolving them. Please run LiveUpdate and make sure that you have the latest updates.

Examples for the 3038 and 3047 errors:

Error: "3038,104" appears on my Norton 2011 product

Error: "3047,91" appears on my Norton 2011 product

Re: Norton Internet Security 2011 Security History - Severity: Medium

Cody, please go to the Norton Error Reporting section of the Security History and context-click (right-click for most people) on each item and Copy and then paste the item into a post. From that information I should be able to tell you why those items are there. Since you weren't notified of any particular problems, the product probably recovered gracefully from whatever issues it encountered.

Error: "3047,53" appears on my Norton 2011 product

I got the following message:

I got this error message:

ONE -CLICK SUPPORT

Error: "3047,53" appears on my Norton 2011 product

To fix this problem, update your virus definitions.  Run Intelligent Updater to install the latest virus definitions.

Manually update the virus definitions using Intelligent Updater.

Go to the update page for new virus definitions.

DOWNLOAD DEFINITIONS (I would click this to download.)

Depending on your version of Windows, do one of the following:

For Windows7/Vista/XP 32-bit..................................(doesn't apply to my machine)

For Windows 7/Vista 64-bit:  Go to the 64-bit Platforms section, and click the first file in the list under Filename.  The file name starts with the year and ends with v5i64.exe . e.g.20090922-017 -v5i64.exe

Save the file to the Windows desktop.

On the desktop, double-click the file that you saved.

Could all of Windows Updates from yesterday have caused problems?

I haven't done any of the above instructions; don't understand what it is.  LiveUpdate is always up to date.

Has anyone else gotten this message?

Thanks,

Cody

Re: Error: "3047,53" appears on my Norton 2011 product

Hi,

I think you can continue in your other post about the internal errors. I will ask the Mods to merge the threads.

I suggest you the follow the instruction that you found in the One Click Support window. You can find then in the following Knowledge Base article:

Error: "3047,53" appears on my Norton 2011 product
