Norton Internet Security 2012 Pre-installed want to use 360

Hi, I just got a new laptop today and it has Norton Internet Security 2012 pre-installed. I have not even turned it on yet and wanted to get some info first.  If I want to purchase 360, do I need to uninstall the Norton Internet Security 2012 even though I haven't activated it yet?

Also, I noticed on the 360 free trial page it has instructions for IE and FF, but not Chrome. I prefer to use Chrome, but if it isn't compatible I'd like to know.  Thanks for any help!

Hi Kimberly

welcome to norton community

I) when you install the norton 360 it will automatically remove the existing norton program on the computer so your norton 360 will remove the norton internet security 2012

II) Norton 360 Version 6.0 supports Google chrome . once you install your norton click on support on the top left hand corner of norton and click on about and check the version whether you have 5.0 or 6.0

let us know if you have any issues

Regards

Venkat

Just a point to consider -- the AV prtection in Norton Internet Security and in Norton 360 are pretty well identical and both include the Identity Safe so by going to Norton 360 you are getting some free online storage (well free but N 360 is a bit more expensive than NIS) and some utilities for doing things to your computer that you may or may not want to do and which to some extent are in Windows alrleady .....

So unless you are used to N 360 and need those additionalfeaturese (and learn how to use them safely) why not stick with NIS .. at least for the free trial period on your new PC?

ANyway -- you know where to find us if you have questions or need help.
