After upgrading to Norton Internet Security 2012, my computers at home and at work both have trouble opening and saving PDF files. I'm using Nitro PDF Reader on one with Windows 7 Pro -- out of desperation because Foxit PDF Reader simply will not function well after updating NIS to 2012. And I'm using Adobe Reader with Vista Pro on the other.
Double-clicking a PDF file seems to take forever to open. The hard drive indicates a lot of activity, so I assume Norton is scanning it. Trying to save a PDF file can seem to take just as long or longer.
I had zero issues when using NIS 2011.
How can I tell NIS to stop scanning PDF files?
