I have been having an issue today where my display drivers were crashing. Upon fixing them, I began getting a message that my AV was turned off. I could not turn it on, open the program, or get any further than the 'Do you trust this publisher' dialog box. In an attempt to manually uninstall and reinstall ( the norton uninstall tool available online did nothing), nothing happens. I've deleted the program from the program list and the start menu list, but it is still listed in the control pannel as being on my computer. Restarting has no effect.

Welcome,
Have you tried running the NOrton Power Eraser from the safe mode w/networking? It's here: http://us.norton.com/support/DIY/index.jsp
This should not corrupt your Norton programs but it is agressive.
Let us know what happens.
