Norton Live Update Failure: Message "You have received the following error: 8504,101"

Hi,

 

My system was freezed yesterday, i had to force shutdown it (by holding the power button for 10 secs). The system performance since then is decreased dramatically and i am getting the 8504,101 error on the norton live update.

I have follwed the instructions, on the view solution page and it asked me to download the "Norton_Removal_Tool", but when i try to run the "Norton_Removal_Tool.exe" file, i get the error saying that " Norton_Removal_Tool.exe is not a valid win32 application".

 

Can someone please help, I am using 64 bit, Windows 7 professional OS.

Sorry to hear of your problem.

You can try clicking on Support-Get Support on the main user interface of NIS. This will start up AutoFix. This may find and solve any problem you have.

If AutoFix does not help, have you run the Norton Removal Tool in Safe Mode? Be sure to back up any Identity Safe data before you do this.


Things happen. Export/Backup your Identity Safe data.
