I have exported my Ident Safe Data to a removable Drive.
When doing so, it asks you to enter a password.
Then if you insert your removeable at a later date or into another PC
When you log in using Norton toolbar or through opening a web page.
A popup asks you if you to choose your Normal Profile or your Removeable Profile along the top
Once choice selected and that particular Password is entered.
Your are then using the appropriate Data for that Profile.
So perhaps that answers your question

Going back to the Nag screen.
As the Nag screen for me is every day now.
I set my PC clock to read to read 23:30
When my PC clock reached 00:00, i.e. midnight , the Nag screen popped up.
So yes, it seems that midnight ' LOCAL ', time is the trigger.
But I have a feeling that if you switch off overnight, it could be an hour before it appears, after you switch on next day.
This is most likely to give the pc a chance to do all other updates at start-up first.
Hope this helps.
Suppose after I reset my clock, I'll get another Nag at Midnight tonight.

Just updated the subscription of a customer who's been getting a nag screen (he's at 21 days). He gets his at boot up. We haven't seen it come up after it's first appearance. Probably, it would pop-up right after midnight if he crossed into a new day.

Thanks boneidle and mijcar for the info about the nag screen. Its sounding like this may be ok for our church laptop.
I'm still not clear though about the Comma Delimited password file for Identity Safe. If as dbrisendine says executing the COexport.exe file doesn't require entry of the normal Identity Safe password, surely there's a huge security risk? Anyone gaining access to a computer which has an expired NIS and knowing about this utility would be able to obtain all login information? I think boneidle your saying the procedure does require entering the normal password or are you referring to a normal Identity Safe backup?

Hi mikosh,
In order to access and export your Identity Safe data after your subscription has expired COExport.exe does require that you enter your Identity Safe password. Once you have successfully exported the information it is no longer protected in the comma delimited file unless you use a third party encryption program. The instructions for exporting your data can be found here:

I'm clear how it works now. Thanks for the link to the instructions for CoExport.exe.

Norton will shut down at midnight (local time) of the day that shows 1 day remaining.
That is what happened to me 35 min ago.
mijcar - the unused NAV 2007 product code worked and I have a new 366 days.
Sure was scarry at midnight when NAV shut down - before I got the new key launched.

Hi Germany
You can go to mynortonaccount and turn off that automatic renewal of the program. All you have to do is remove the credit card information. They will start to remind you 30 days in advance when your subscription is going to end. All you have to do then is near the time when then program is going to end, find a cheaper version either in a local store or online somewhere and enter that key.
Do you have a current Norton product installed now with a valid key?
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.
