Last night I received an advertisement popup from Norton for online family. Are these popups something new? I have never received advertisement popups from Norton on any of my computers. I am running NIS 2010. Also had problems with my identity safe logins last night. When i went to a login page the contents wouldn't fill in and turn green?
Thanks Kevin

Hello TooStrong
Welcome back to the Norton Community Forum
Yes, that announcement is something new just to make you aware about online family. If you are not interested in it, just click that you don't want it. It's a new program that takes the place of the family add-on pack.
There have been some people complaining about this problem also. There have been some hardware problems on the back end with Symantec. Perhaps this has something to do with it.
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

TooStrong,
You may want to consider the free upgrade to NIS 2011 since Norton listened to users and has controls in Configuration to stop the little popups that tell you they have just done a scan and also there is one to stop certain publicity announcements from Norton but I'm not sure how all embracing it is.

did it look like this?
I also noticed a strange folder created under my user account called Tific
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Tific\Client.log
finds found in there are tificocs.symantec.com.tfc and Environment.tfc

Hi jerrycanada,
Tific is used in One Click Support. This would have been loaded if you've ever gone to One Click Support before.

Never mind, I found the answer to my own question, Tific is a folder that is created by Norton One click support option in NIS2010, I sorta remember clicking that by mistake last night. mystery answered.
