I have spent 2 days trying to fix this problem  I used the Norton Removal tool (it would only run in Safe Mode) and reinstalled N.I.S..  When I reinstalled NIS the Error message came back.  The error said SYMCUW (and a few other programs) failed to initilize properly.

When I loaded Norton Systemworks 2008, Systemworks worked perfectly.  Then when I installed NIS, both NIS and SYSTEMWORKS failed to load. 

HELP, please.

You should try to uninstall them both than reinstall NIS first. Does NIS work now?

There are some issues with running them both together. Symantec is working on it
