If the files are being removed by Download Insight, then you can avoid the issue by turning off Download Intelligence in the Norton Settings before downloading a potentially troublesome file.

if I remember correctly, we've asked for this for the 2011 version. I think it's about time symantec implement it..... hopefull they'll include it as an update to the 2012 version

But why i should lower my security (turnning off DI) instead of Symantec making Norton more user friendly? its not so hard....we dont ask for huge change here....and remember that there are many users who ask for the same feature long time ago, trust me like 1/3 of Norton users over Wilders Security are getting really anoyed by not having this feature and are starrting ditching Norton just because of this, especially now when fp rate is higher.

Agree, but I think this will not been done as an upgrade to NIS 2012, but perhaps as a feature in NIS 2013. Especially if you put this as a suggestion in the Product Suggestions part of the forum.

I have a free version of Norton Security Suite from Comcast, and I can't use it because of this problem. It's really frustrating! The F-Secure suite I had from WOW Cable was so much easier to use, giving exclusion options that actually worked and the ability to quarantine all files instead of removing them. I had to get a 30 day trial from F-Secure in hopes that Symantec would fix this problem and I would be able to use the Comcast version. From what I've read here, it won't be fixed soon, So now I have to pay for a different company's product, and contact Comcast with my displeasure of their choice of offered product. To quote Florida Evans "**bleep** **bleep** **bleep**!"

Re: Norton is loosing loyal customers, because automatic deleting of threats! :(

I went back to NIS2011 on both of my computers.  It is not just this specific problem, but several others.  What makes me mad, is that I buy a security program that is supposed to be professional and all I get is rearranged user interface and this stupid Fun Extras.  Symantec had all this time to improve upon 2011 and all we get is more bugs, slower access times, and  fancier graphics.

I would like veaswaran to explain this!  You so proudly displayed the Fun Extras here: http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Fun-Extras-in-Norton-2012/td-p/527164

So why don't you make a sticky so all can read and explain to the rest of us why Symantec added that stupid Fun Extras while we get a poorer product than NIS2011.

Just want to add my 2 cents. Symantec started implementing annoyances since March 2009 and did very little in making life of advanced users easier. And what about another annoyance called WS.Reputation1 ? I wish they add an option to disable it
