On-demand antivirus scans do not work as expected in Windows Vista, in Windows 7 etc.

A hotfix has been released by Microsoft that solves an issue that an antivirus scanner might encounter during an on-demand scan. What would you recommend regarding this: should Norton users install this or not? Is it ok to wait for the inclusion of this into the next Service pack? Are Norton products impacted by this issue?

I would not install this until a Symantec engineer weighs in on this. A little too technical for a mere user like myself. :smileyhappy:
