Upgraded to Microsoft Office 2010 fine. NIS 2010 & 2011 Anti-Span function works, however, no Antivirus scan. Have turned function on/off/on in NIS settings, restarted system, etc. Nothing has worked. Running Win7 32bit, worked fine with Office Outlook 2007, does not work with Outlook 2010.

Hi rtorella
If you have the email scanning option turned on then it is scanning emails. Perhaps you need to check the option that says "Display Progress Indicator" in order that you can see it scanning (but it is quite fast).

Thank you for your reply. The progress indicator option is selected . I opened Microsoft Outlook 2010 and went to the program settings, which indicated that an "anti-virus program is not installed" This has been since upgrading Office 2007 to version 2010. I upgraded NIS from 2010 to the new 2011 and still no anti-virus is installed according to the Office settings. It appears that the NIS Anti-Virus plugin is not installed on the Outlook 2010 version. Anti-Spam plugin is installed and working correctly, however, the anit-virus is much more important.

Hello rtorella
Have you done the Windows Updates for Office 2010 since you have updated to that program? Have you run live update to get all of NIS 2011 updates and then rebooted your computer? Are you using the so called standard ports for email--that is ports 25 and 110?
Please come back and let us knos if this has helped. Thanks.

Hi rtorella
You received a message from Outlook that "an anti-virus program is not installed"? Can you post a screenshot of this message? That message is more likely to be a Windows Security Center message.
When you check the settings in NIS for anti-spam options is there a tick for client integration for Outlook?

Hello rtorella,
Norton Internet Security scans at the POP3/SMTP port level independent of the mail client. You will not see a plug-in installed for Email Virus Scanning, because the product is working at the email connection level. This provides a universal solution to ALL clients.
