I have norton security but still have pop ups each time i log onto a website , i press close and it goes away only to reappear . I then get a norton message suggesting i have attention needed which i do , it says i have tracking cookies which then says have been resolved after scanning , then they reappear next time i go onto a website . Any ideas how to make this go away .

hi Holidayboy - NIS 2008 doesn't have a pop-up blocker, so it makes sense that you are receiving them if you are not using a browser equiped with some other means of blocking them. the cookie issue sounds like a notication problem. if you do not want to be alerted, you can set the program to automatically remove low-risk threats without alerting you. that option is found in the Internet Security Options page (under the Exclusion / Low Risk Action setting).

I'm glad to hear the Pop Up Blocker might be coming back

When I upgraded from Norton 360 v 1 to Norton 360 v 2 ....

Not only do I have the problem - Norton 360 v 2 wont work properly

But to add insult to injury ...

I discovered Symantec have taken the Pop Up Blocker and Ad Blocker out of the Add On Pack

I haven't bothered installing the Add On Pack this last 3 Re-Installs of Norton 360 v 2

Not much point in having the Add On Pack ....

Now that it's two most useful tools have been taken out

Anyway...

A Pop Up Blocker and Ad Blocker should be built into the main 360 v 2 software.

Symantec should keep their Add On Packs just for Parental Controls and Spam Controls.

Because they are the two things ... Not everybody can use or wants to use.

I don't think many people would choose not to use - What was an excellent ... Pop Up Blocker and Ad Blocker

Pull your socks up Symantec

hi zana - i'm intrigued by your response. i haven't had a pop-up or ad issue since switching to Firefox and using the add block plus add-on. i use a my.yahoo homepage that is obnoxious with ads in IE and non-existant in FF. i have another plug-in for running the IE engine within FF, so for pages that require IE, it's covered. i was never really satisfied with any pop-up / ad blockers until i had this combination.
