PROBLEM IN NIS 2011 V.18.5.0.125

HI, i have received the 18.5.0.125 update at 7:10 PM. at 8-1-2011,(india).

when i received update and restart the computer,the SETTING button in nis main window could not work!

please help me to resolve these problem, i have restart my computer for 2-3 times but still the SETTING  button did not work?

AND I HAVE RECEIVED ERROR:3005,100

Hi,

 

I checked the Symantec Support page, and for the 3005,100 error the offered solution is a full reinstall.

 

Here's the steps for you:


I. Backup your Identity Safe data (you can do it now only the manual way)

1. Go to the folder:  C:\ProgramData\Norton\{variousnumbers}\NIS_18.5.0.125\IdentitySafeDataStore\variousnumbers\

2. Copy IDDStore.dat and IDDStore_bak.dat to an other folder (eg. to My Documents)


II. Reinstall the product

1. Download latest Norton Internet Security installer: http://buy-download.norton.com/downloads/CLT/NIS/US/2011/18.5/ESD/NIS-ESD-18-5-0-125-EN.exe
2. Download Norton Removal Tool: www.norton.com/nrt
3. Disconnect from internet
4. Remove Norton Internet Security from Start Menu or from Control Panel -> Add or Remove programs
5. Reboot
6. Run the Norton Removal Tool, reboot (repeat it 2-3 times)
7. Install Norton Internet Security 2011, and activate it with your old serial
8. Run Live Update until you get no new updates

 

III. Restore your Identity Safe data

1. Open NIS main window

2. Create a new Identity Safe profile (only the passwords)

3. Log out of Identity Safe

4. Go to Settings ->Misc. Settings

5. Find Norton Product's Tamper Protection, and turn it off

6. On the new window set the time duration to 15 minutes

7. Click Apply

8. Go to the folder: C:\ProgramData\Norton\{variousnumbers}\NIS_18.5.0.125\IdentitySafeDataStore\variousnumbers\

9. Copy the saved IDDStore.dat and IDDStore_bak.dat into the folder above, and overwrite the new files in it with the saved ones

10. Go back to NIS settings, and turn Tamper Protection back

11. Log in to Identity Safe and check your logins

 

 

Let us know the results.

and the problem of setting button does not seen..

I, for solving this problem, I followed the guide to install version 18.1 (and work).
Advise me to reinstall the 18.5?
Where can I find the installer in Italian?

It should be updated automatically via Live Update.
