I am facing following 2 problems with NIS2009 :-

1) Sometimes Scaning Hangs in-between. Noting works with NIS2009. I have to re-start computer;

2) Unable to see all login list in "Cards & Log-ins". I have to visit website from Bookmark. Like I am having around 30 login in Cards & Log-ins but it shows only 15.

Everytime I chat with any repersantative they just un-install and re-install apps but problem stays. That is why I switched back to NIS2008 but as I came to know new patch resolved many major problems. I re-installed NIS2009 sorry but againof no use. Please suggest should I switch back to NIS2008?

Also, I am missing Identity Safe in NIS2009 as it was in NIS2008. That was great but nowI have to install it saparately :(

I am using NIS2009 5 User and my OS is Windows Vista 32. Both Fully updated NIS2009 Version 16.2.0.7

1) I had mentioned "I am missing Identity Safe" wrongly I wanted to say "I am missing Security Inspector"

Security Inspector is currently in Beta and will be an Add-On for Norton 2009 Products, if the User wishes to have that Component of Norton 2009.

First of all than you huwyngr for leting me know about edit facility. Next thank you floting_red for details about Security Inspector. But, I would like to mention here that Security Inspector was there in NIS2008 and that was not Beta (I beleave). I could not understand why the same has been pulled off from NIS2009. Also, there are lots problem with NIS 2009 and I was not expecting such a Application (full of bugs) has been reliesed by Symantic. I am using Symantic products since past 15+ years and never seen such product. Now I am feeling that I wasted my hard earned money buying NIS2009. I do not know how and when Symantic is going to compansiate. I strongly feel that Symantic should pull back NIS 2009 till its fully ready without any major bug as NIS 2008 is working fine.

PS: I would also like to know whenever I post anything with or without any URL in my post I see this message in red color box "Please address the following to complete the message posting:

Please suggest what it is?

What sort of problems are you having? When your scan hangs are you using any other security products?

This is a glitch in the system software that hopefully is fixed in a new iteration due out shortly. Why the system finds a URL copied from its own site to be invalid is anyone's guess.

All you need to do is to hit POST again and it will be posted -- you will also run into this if you use Preview as I do, when I remember, to check links to make sure they work. I may have to press Preview twice before I get the hand pointer and can check the link without losing the message by using Open in another TAB or Window.

I hope you will stick with NIS2009. It really is a vast improvement; just a shame that it was plagued with problems although it has to be accepted that we don't often hear from those who have no problems at all!

symantec has totally re-written N.I.S. and that is why, if you think you have an Error, or know, then it is important that you Post here and let us know.

The N.I.S. 2008 Security Inspector was not in Beta that was with N.I.S. 2008.  Is this what you mean?

1) I am was using any other application along NIS 2009. So, why it was hanging during scan?

2) While using NIS 2009 I contacted Online help and chated with many repersantatives. But, without any result. Also, I would like to mention if NIS 2009 is free of all bugs then why there are long queues in online help. I always saw minimum 50 PPL before me?

3) I mentioned all problems above so please read above posts to know about them.

4) I could not understand what was the hurry to open up NIS 2009 when it was not prefect? And all the features were not ready to use?

5) Even of now I am using NIS2008 without any problem and NIS 2009 is still not 100% ready so, it clearly shows that I (we) wasted money buying NIS 2009. Is Symantec planning to compansiate my (our) hard earned money?

6) As far as those who are not facing any problems might not be using all features and might be just cool customers.

After facing problems with NIS2009 I searched around and found many other good application. They are avaliable free of cost or at very resionable pricing. But As I already thron my hard earned money in Symantec Pocket. I left with no alternate but to wait another year.But, if Symantec will keep on releasing NIS2009 like applications. I am not going to buy Symantec products anymore.
