Since I installed that product update through Liveupdate. I now have two NIS system tray icons. Why? How do I fix this?

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the Norton product?
If not, try that first. Download Norton Removal Tool from this LINK. Run the removal tool multiple times(2-3 mins) to make sure that all components are uninstalled completely. Go to your Norton Account using this LINK and get the Product Key. You may require this same Product Key for activating the Norton program. You can use the Upgrade Center for installing the latest version of Norton Internet Security. After installing the Norton program, run LiveUpdate repeatedly untill you see the message "No more updates" and then restart the computer. Let us know the results.

Hi SGFC,
This is a known Windows 7 occurrence. Before reinstalling NIS 2010 as Yogesh has suggested, you may want to try out dbrisendine's solution in this thread:

Since this solution involves editing the registry, please back up your registry to be on the completely safe side. You will find instructions on how to do this over here:

It seems to have gone away by itself.
The worse thing about uninstalling and reinstalling is when they've released a major update that is distributing itself via Liveupdate. You maybe waiting for days until you can get it again.
