Re: Pulse Updates

What do you mean reinstalled twice. You need to use the remvoal tool and unisntall Norton. Then reboot. Clean up any left over files and reboot. Install Norton. Works like a charm. How many more days on your trial?

LiveUpdate should continuous doing job even user idle ... isn't it ?

In NIS 2008 i can set LiveUpdate doing job every 30 min ( I know default is 240 min=4 hr )
But in NIS 2009 if Auto LiveUpdate not work ... nothing I can do

Re: Pulse Updates

Live Update runs about eveyr 5 -15 minutes. If you did a complete uninstall and a clean install of Norton then it should be working. Are you sure you do not have anything else stopping it? Are you using a hardware firewall? Do you have a router?

Re: Pulse Updates

Dieselman....this is moving away from the topic, but you recommend uninstalling windows defender completely from Vista?  I believed that running its antivirus protection (but not the firewall as that can cause conflicts) along with Sysmantec created a sort of multi-layer protection.  Then again, intalling NIS 2009 seems to have automatically turned off all of windows defender and I haven't yet bothered to turn its AV back on.

To get back on track here...ChristopherA has posted some great information about Pulse Updates. I would recommend reading it. Thanks!

Re: Pulse Updates

Can you check the following settings:

Main UI - Settings - Computer Settings - Updates Section?

It should have two settings one for "Automatic LiveUpdate" and another for "Pulse Updates".  Are both of these set to On?
