Quarantined Viruses and NIS 2010 Update

Hi,

I'm planning to update to NIS 2010 from NIS 2009 via the Norton web update.

Two viruses are quarantined in my NIS 2009 now (I'm running Windows XP). What happens to the viruses when I update to NIS 2010?

Is there any potential security issue I should be aware of?

Thanks in advance.

Hi CurrentR,

You can go ahead with updating to the latest version- Norton 2010 via Norton Update Center. There won't be any problem with the quarantined viruses which you have with your Norton 2009 product.

Hi Yogesh,

Thanks for the reply.

Will the quarantined viruses be deleted when I update to NIS 2010 or will they be transfered to the NIS 2010 quarantine.

It won't be deleted from Quaratine when you upgrade, it may get transfered if I am correct. You can, however, delete the file from Norton 2009 quaratine, and then perform the upgrade if you do not want to get it transfered.
