Question re NIS "Apply Updates only on reboot" Setting

With respect to the NIS "Apply Updates only on reboot" setting:

The Help text states that, if the option is turned off : "...the program updates that do not require system restart are applied instantly. However, the program updates that require system restart are automatically applied the next time you restart your computer."

My question: If this happens--i.e., there are updates that are waiting for the next system restart--will NIS tell me that?

Thanks.

Re: Question re NIS "Apply Updates only on reboot" Setting

If you manually run LiveUpdate you will see a message about the waiting update. Otherwise, I have not  seen a pop up about a pending update.

If you wait too long before restarting your computer, you may eventually see a message.
