Just so you can see it sooner. Tywin7 I'm sure she is not messing with this setting.

I know that so not to worry. I just posted again so Delph would not have to wait for your image to be approved.

Thanks Tywin7. I dug around, found it and read up on it. Caching is on, however, having said that, the only applications I have used in the past month, is IM Firefox and Thunderbird email. I can see that reducing the size of the scans, and I expect to see the scans reduced. I even expect to see the network and browser items rarely change, as does the number of items in startup. That varies little.
What bothers me is the uneven skipped and trusted, especially with the skip scan off, and the really uneven file count, compared to the average time span taken to complete its mission. I don't expect to see a full system scan drop to 9,700 files without an equally dramatic increase in trusted and skipped.
It's either scanning the same files over and over and calling it done, or it can't count.

Maybe it can't count ;)

Yep!! Alternate universe!!!
Freaky the computer can't count. I'm assuming its scanning some files over as it "follows" other files.

Nice to make someone laugh. **tickles AllenM**
Anyway back on topic. Any Symantec employee care to chime in?

One thing that I believe that I can count on is the time span, if only because it is tied into system time. It takes slightly over 40 minutes to scan 515,000 files. That is a given. The time is reduced reasonably for 495,000 files. When it takes 40 minutes to scan 32,000 files, 45 minutes to scan 9700 files, and then 49 minutes to scan 148,000, it reminds me of past co-workers. What is it finding to do???
