Everything's fine on my pc.
Suddenly a random error 3048,3 pops up. The contents are very confusing! (see screenshot 1)
Following link (Open Support Website), it says reboot (strange!)
Checked Recent History: screenshot 2, no need reboot ?!
Checked LiveUpdate: screenshot 3, no problem there, it was 2 hours ago!
Conclusion: No Idea What Happened. My PC is still running fine without reboot, NIS systray icon is healthy checked.
I checked the other messages on this forum, I believe I have no reason to follow their instructions of uninstalling & NRT-ing.
This is Cilixz reporting live from Malaysia, back to you, Symantec!

Hi,
Please check if there is any other anti virus program on the computer, If yes, uninstall it and restart the computer and run liveupdate.
Thanks ,

Hi Muralisripada,
No, I have no other anti virus program, except for MBAM Free which doesn't have real-time protection.
There wasn't any difference when this random error occurred and when I rebooted.
I am already on NIS 19.7.0.9 before this error occurred.
I just would like to know is there a possible cause for this to happen, and will it happen again?
Or am I just unlucky to see this happened and your department has no clue to this mystery?

Hi,
You can try the basic steps like performing a chkdsk /f /r
Start -> All program -> Accessories -> Command prompt - Right click and run as administrator
Type the following command - chkdsk /f /r and press enter
Type Exit and restart the computer. It will check for disk errors and after that Try to install the norton 360 v6.0
Please let me know the results.
Have you tried trunning the full system scan and check once if there is any kind of threat on the computer
Thanks,
Murali

I also get the same error message - I used to get it every couple of months and I would reboot and then everything would be fine - However I have the error twice in the last week. I have no other anti virus software (other than NIS2012) and I also Malwarebytes Free on my PC.

Hi Muralisripada,
The suggestions by your department to run chkdsk and install N360 is quite too time consuming and expensive to do in my opinion. I only need NIS, not N360, and I am sure my hd is fine.
Now I have another issue:
NIS not performing accordingly. Today's date is May 10 for my country Malaysia. NIS last ran a scan on May 3. As far as I know, NIS normally runs a background scan after a automatic background liveupdate, is this correct?

Hi,
Chkdsk is time consuming as you told but it has given solutions to many earlier. I have seen errors on disk which was recently purchased.
Please try running the full System Scan and Let me know if you are getting any error message while scanning.\
Please check if there is any software like system mechanic from iolo technologies.
Thanks,
Murali

No error on full system scan.
No, I don't have any software from iolo or any pc tune-up software installed.
I have Piriform's ccleaner, defraggler, recuva & speccy.
