Hi krypton4,

Welcome to the Norton Community. I'd like to be sure you have the latest version of NIS. Can you check your version of NIS from Support > About? Also what OS and SP (service pack) do you have and is it 32 or 64 bit?

There is also a Norton Utilities which has checks for registry errors as well as registry defragmentation. More on Norton Utilities.

Best wishes.

Allen

Windows 7 Ultimate SP 1, 32 bit, 4 GB * NIS 2012 (19.8.0.14) * Ghost 15 * IE 9, Firefox, Safari.
Test laptop with W7 Home Premium 64 bit * NIS 2012 (19.8.0.14)

Re: Registry fix

Running any registry fixer or cleaner can have detrimental effects on your sysytem unless you know what is it that you are telling it to fix, and make certain that you make a back up of your registry before fixing.  users have made their machines unbootable by thinking that the software knew more than they did.

Under certain circumstances profanity provides relief denied even to prayer.
