I will uninstall Firefox and stick with Explorer. I do not like the way NIS is working. How do I remove the hot fix?

Hi
What was the problems that NIS was causing?
The Hotfix as far as I know cannot be uninstalled Separately
But
You should provide more details regarding the problem you face with Firefox and Norton
If People here understand the problem they may be able to fix the issue and you can use firefox as usual!
Please do give additional details of Problem
version Norton can be Found on Norton UI Support>about
O/S Service pack?
32 or 64 bit???
Any Error message or Problems with Norton toolbar

You have to remove NIS and reinstall it. The lastest version is here:
http://www.symantec.com/redirects/norton/norton_co
Just use your current key and then run update.

I've no background on this, other than knowing of the problem itself, but is there in fact any need to remvoe the hotfix? I don't think so since I thought I'd seen a Norton Staff post saying it would be rolled into the next major version update.
I would not expect a fix within Norton for a problem with one specific make of browser to be detrimental to another brand ... and be issued by Norton.

See my post :
The Hot-Fix has a bug that affects SOME sites using any browser. I use FF4.0 with the hot fix and 99% of my logins work so I can live with it until another fix. If I was going back to IE8 or FF 3.6 I would uninstall the Hot-Fix to get ID Safe to work correctly on all my sites.

I'm not aware of any Norton confirmation of that other than your own experience; some appear to repeat it but they are all using FF in one version or another.
As Tony says in the announcemnent of the hotfix:
<< Currently, this fix is only available by downloading and installing the file on the above site. The fix will be included in the next major product update via LiveUpdate, but it is NOT CURRENTLY available through LiveUpdate. >>
and I wouldn't expect that to happen if a fix for hotfix affected other browsers. The majority who use BoA including myself are aware that it did make changes in the whole approach some while back and in addition their whole system crashed recently so who knows what changes get slipstreamed in?
I'll ask Tony about it.

Well, my OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. NIS worked fine before FF 4 and the hot fix. All the sites that required the password in a separate page after you enter the ID were been filled automatically. With the hot fix they are not. I have to go to Identity Safe Configuration, find what the password for that specific page is and enter it manually. I do not think Firefox 4 is worthy having this problem. I would rather not using it and have the IDs and passwords filled automatically like before even when they are in separate pages.
Thank you guys.

Lampiao,
That is the problem a lot of us have with the Hot Fix. If you look at my previous post and go to that link and subscribe you can follow the process for a fix. After reinstalling NIS 2011 without the fix Identity Safe will go back to normal but not for FF 4. I have 40 sites that work after the fix and only about 5 or 6 that are broken, which I can live with for now.

I'd like to clarify the issues originally posted by Lampiao. From what I understand, this is what's happening:
1) You saved logins with the NIS 2011 toolbar prior to Firefox 4 being released
2) Every saved login would autofill when you clicked "Identity Safe > [site]" in the toolbar
3) You upgraded to Firefox 4
4) You found that the Norton Toolbar was not loading for FF4, so you installed the Hotfix
5) After installing the hotfix, you went to every saved login, but when visiting each site, the login did not autofill
Does this sound correct? Please fill in any critical details I might have missed. As you might guess, I have a few follow-up questions for you:
a) Could you send me the list of the logins that do not autofill? This is critical information.
b) How did you create the logins? Manually? or after you logged in once, and Identity Safe asked if you wanted to save it?
c) Could you try IE and let us know if the logins autofill when using that browser?
Thanks for your help.
