I recently purchased a 3 PC Norton Internet Security. I had 220 days left on my current subscription but since it was on sale I thought it would be a good to extend my current one . When I clicked renew the days left only went to 366. Shouldn't it go to 586?
..

Welcome,
Yes and no. If you renew a subscription early the days of the renewal are added to the existing days. If you get a new key it is a different license/subscription than the current so it starts things at zero. The solution for this is to use the chat feature and contact the fine folks in customer service and have them get everything back in order for you. Yoou will find them here:

Well the rep got it sorted quickly. I got the 1 year extension on my 3 pc's with no problem. He had to do it on his end.
Evidently you're supposed to buy a renewal not a "new" product. It was an excellent sale so it was hard to pass up, not sure why you can't do that.
Anyway thanks for your quick reply and link !!

Hi,
You CAN do that! Many do. The secret of success is that you wait until about two or three days before the existing license/subscription is about to expire and THEN enter the new key. OK, you lose two or three days, one of those facts of live. But you still get everythiing else and you don't need to uninstall or reinstall anything, all of your settings remain, etc.
Hope this helps for next time ![]()

Hello sig98
You should however periodically backup your identity safe file.
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

Hello sig98 and I hope you don't mind my two cents worth.. Keep watching the newspaper ads and major on-line stores for their sales. Sometimes you can purchase a copy of Nortons for use on 3 PC's for $5.00 USD or less after the rebate. Just hold on to that product key and a day or two before your's expires, enter that new product key. Basically just click on renew, enter that new product key, go through the activation process, click on support - subscription status (to make sure the new days registered) and you're good to go for another year. Only drawback..... I think I read a post that suggested the product keys have a shelf life of about 5 years, so don't buy six copies when they are on sale

PC-C,
One thing to bear in mind if one thinks of stocking up on X copies of one of the Norton Products when on sale cheap is that:
Some stores limit sales per customer or household
Norton does in principle limit the Upgrade mail in rebate to one per household
So you can't necessarily use all the rebates to get to the situation where you end up with X copies and X¢ in your pocket as well.
