I've written a startup program for our Accounts package, so that everytime a user starts up, it checks our website for updates and offers to install them automatically. SONAR blocks this program. I can tell it to allow it on my computer. That is OK. But I am distributing my program to maybe thousands of users, many of which may have NIS (since we recommend it:-) Is there any way I can get our program verified (or whatever) so that SONAR knows it is safe?

Perhaps getting it certified by Verisign will help. I'm not sure if this page will help with that.

What you want to do is to submit your software to Symantec to have it whitelisted.  You can do that here:
