SONAR changes file capitalization

Hi All...

When SONAR blocks me from running a file and quarantines it, and then I reboot and restore the file, the file name is then all lower case. I then have to correct it by hand.

Please fix this in the 2011 version. If it is also fixed in the 2010 version, that would be nice, but not as important to me.

I am running NAV 2010 on a Vista Business SP2 machine.

Thanks,

...Karl

Re: SONAR changes file capitalization

Hi Karl,

Welcome to the Norton Community. I have reproduced this behavior using a test file which I use for this sort of thing.

Windows does not use capitilization in terms of determining if the filename is a duplicate of another file in the same location.

Is this causing a functional problem somehow or just something you have noted?

Re: SONAR changes file capitalization

Hi...

Most of the time it is only a nuisance, but in a few cases, where I do case sensitive file synchronizetion between machines, on executable files, it causes a problem.

Thanks,

Re: SONAR changes file capitalization

Hi Karl,

I will pass this on to Symantec and let you  know if I find out anything.

Best wishes.
