Hi SendOfJive
I was using http://www.google.com/
I will try the suggestion that bjm mentioned and will post back with the results.
Edit: Well i reset IE8 (latest build) to default and tried it out, and its still exactly the same. I still need to refresh the page for the safe web icons to appear. Its kind of annoying, so it looks as though i will do without google until it starts working again.

The usually helpful posters are going off in the wrong direction for some reason (i.e., https, instant on/off, etc).
It is well documented (many threads over a long period of time) that Safe Web has problems.
Why don't you just say that it often does not work with Google and Symantec has not fixed it.

So, is there any hope that this will get resolved?, or am i just supposed to put up with it.
Ive even uninstalled Norton, and re installed it, yet things are still the same.
What gets me is that its been working fine since i purchased it. And its only now this issue has started. I think an update may of caused this, yet that being said, if it was then why aren't there others complaining about this same very issue.
Its all just so weird......................

Is it a Symantec issue? or is it Google's??.
I dont have a clue right now.

Hi unionjack,
If you do a Google search from the browser's search bar, instead of your Google homepage, do the site safety icons work better?

Hi SendOfJive
As of now my homepage is set to Bing.com. At the top right of my IE there is a search bar which is default to google. If i type something in there, google opens up and the safe icons appear just fine.
Not sure what to make of that, so im hoping you or someone else may have some ideas for me.
Thanks again.

Have you added www.Google.com to your Trusted Sites Zone in IE (and be sure that "Require server verification (https:)...." is unchecked)?
