Hi, Happy Christmas, I believe I have a virus on my computer. A scanner.exe programme appeared on my desktop yesterday and keeps telling me that I need to run defragmentation on my computer as I have multiple security threats and my hard drive is at risk. It also keeps asking me to enter my credit card details to purchase extra security, hmm, of course, I won't! I don't know how to get rid of it; when I look under Norton File Insight, it says that it is a 1326195.exe file and is saved in Temp. The author is HDD Corporation who I can't find anything on on the internet apart from a Houston, Texas based 'private company' listing. I am baffled. My computer is working fine and I can access the internet but I've lost my desktop picture and this security threat thing keeps popping up. I don't want to go online and buy anything in case it is tracking me; is it? Any help/advice much appreciated, thank you...![]()

Hello bicko
Please remember to remove your old restore points and create a new one so that if you have to restore your computer to an earlier date, you don't get back the same malware again.; Thanks.
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.
