Security

I have two questions:

1)How can I set up IE9 to prompt me every time someone wants my location rather than an all or nothing situation?

2)My credit cards have been hacked twice in the last year from online buying.  I have heard of one time or limited credit cards.

The reason i am posting in a Norton site is that someone told me NIS can be custom configured to block location requests.  I know there is a Norton safe, but dont think that can prevent hacking a card, right?

thank you

Hi,

IE9 is a Microsoft program and I'd recommend that you contact them to see if it is even possible to do what you are requesting. It might be in how cookies are handled but that's just a guess on my part.

Re: Security

Wayne,

As Dick says check IE 9 ....

Here's a link to what MS says about Privacy settings and they do include a location setting.

http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows7/Change-Internet-Explorer-9-Privacy-settings

If you also use Google Toolbar or Google for searching I think you will find they grab location data and that there is a setting in Options.

Hope that helps.

If you think you may need more help but not NIS related we can get this moved to Tech Outpost here where we deal with computing problems that don't involve the Norton Software.

Do let us know.
