Something called shopperreports got onto my computer. Whenever I try to search for something it will pop up in any search engine with some products. I believe that it is causing the major problems with my internet, because my internet (Explorer) will randomly close as if I pressed the exit button. I need help getting it off, I already know that Norton Internet Security does not pick it up and the website it comes from shows up as safe. The problem with removing it is that it has written itself into my computer registry so I'm not sure if I should use system restore and I don't trust myself with going and deleting it out. I will not run windows updates because if I do then it will be my new restore point and then there will be no hope of using system restore to get it off. I have Windows XP Professional SP3 and Norton does its automatic update regularly. Also going to Add/Remove programs doesn't work even though it is on the list. I have seen some links to get software to delete but I don't trust random sites. If someone could please recommend a site/tool that is free and safe.

Hi Vandy:
Give Malwarebytes a try first. It is the safest beginning. Install it, update it, and run a full scan. Remove whatever it finds. Let us know if it won't download or run.

You will be able to save the log in Notepad and attach it in the reply editor.

Hi Vandy,
Try the Norton Power Eraser - http://security.symantec.com/nbrt/npe.asp?lcid=103
This is designed to pick up these sorts of threats.
