Hello all. New laptop meant new software especially after a certain other security firm switched my account to auto-renewal setting. Luckily they refunded me quite promptly.
Anyway I have the site ratings turned on but I don't get any icons in my search results. I predomintatly use bing but I checked by searching on google and I don't get any icons there either.
Any ideas......thanks

Hi,
First off, you mention you had another security program. How did you uninstall it? Did you uninstall that program with the vendors removal tool before installing Norton? Which Norton product and version are you using? Can you also mention which browser you're using?
Thanks,
Dave

It was McAfee and I uninstalled it through Windows Add/Remove Programmes.
Browser is Internet Explorer 9.
Norton Internet Security Pack 2012 (Performance Pack).
Thanks

Hi PeterWolf,
I would suggest you start with Step 2 under solution in the following link:

Running this tool should clear all the remnants of McAfee off your system.
If no joy, let us know!

Ok,I double checked and McAfee is definately no longer on my laptop. So I'm wondering whether I've missed something in the settings of Norton.
As I understand it with this Norton 2012 when I use a search engine I should get little norton icons next to each result, which indicate whether the site is safe, right?
If this is right I must have missed a setting because my search results (I always use Bing.com for searching) don't display any norton icons.

Hang on just found out about the norton toolbar. I think this may solve the issue.
Edit 13:26 (UK time): Yep that sorted it. Simply forgot to turn the toolbar on. Thanks anyway guys, greatly appreciate the help.

Yup, having the Norton Toolbar will definately help with the rating icons! Glad you got it sorted and I went ahead and marked your post as the solution so others coming here know that is what fixed your situation.
