Skype and NIS

Hello,

i'm having a problem with the firewall of norton and the acces to skype,

i have checked for the lastest versions of both programs and i have the lastest ones.

When i try to login in skype it appears the message "Skype no se ha podido conectar" skype can't connect, and the first time i tried to login appeared a norton messasge that said that skype has been blocked.

I've been looking for the way to allow skype works at the firewall configuration but i dont have idea how to solve de problem.

pd. bad english, sorry :S

Re: Skype and NIS

PD: the only way that works is to disable the firewall function, but i think it's not the right solution

Re: Skype and NIS

Hello edna_ruve

Have you checked the smart firewall to see if the program is allowed in there? To do this, please go to settings, network, smart firewall, program control, configure,  check the program listings. If it is not listed, click on Add and find the Skype program and add in the .exe for the Skype program. Allow the program in and then click out of the firewall. Reboot and then see if you can use the program. Thanks.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

Re: Skype and NIS

Hello edna

I'm glad you got Skype to work ok. The Smart Firewall is smart, but sometimes it needs a little help along the way. Thanks for marking your thread as solved also so that others will know how to solve their problem if it is similar to this one.
