Same problem here with 32-bit Vista Home Premium and 32-bit Windows 7 Pro. After consulting with "Nathan", the "Virtual Agent", I was eventually lead to downloading and running the Intelligent Updater program 20111013-019v5i32.exe to install the latest updates but unfortunately this didn't fix the problem. The IU program produces a log file which may contain a clue to the problem.

Hi! All,
I am receiving the same error message but I seen earlier that Symantec is aware of the issue and is working on a fix; so let's all take a deep breath and relax. We'll all be back up and running properly soon. My system is running Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit all updates installed from Microsoft.
Thanks,
Tech83 :)

Thanks guys for the "me too's" but as noted we are aware of the issue and are currently correcting it.
No point in posting your pics of the failing LU dialog box since all you are doing is posting the same basic dialog.
Also this issue involves a patch that isn't part of the Intelligent update patches so downloading and running that will not fix this submission data patch failure.
The Failing patch is being pulled from our live servers but this will take a bit.

Hello
Looks like this problem is restricted to NIS 2012. I am running NIS 2011, xp pro sp 3, IE 8 all updates and my submission control data was installed without a problem.. It seems to have been installed twice, once on Tuesday and once today, Thursday. Don't know if these are both the same update or not.
Don't know if this information will help any, but am submitting it. Thanks.
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.
